Workshops Available Through REACH
We offer workshops to schools who would like to benefit from our
expertise in the field of learning difficulties and remediation of
language based learning disabilities. All workshops are held at the
REACH Center unless otherwise noted.
Contact us for more information or to
arrange a workshop in your school.
Our "Lunch
and Learn" workshops are an opportunity to have our
directors, both Orton-Gillingham Trainers, come to your school and
offer a workshop during the school's lunch hour. These brief,
targeted workshops offer hands-on strategies to educators in a school
without having to schedule time outside of the regular school
day. Comprehensive handouts are included in each session
which allow each teacher to bring the new information back into their
classroom and easily implement what they have learned. Some
topics include:
Multisensory Strategies for Teaching
Penmanship
Alphabet Awareness Skills
Teaching Non-phonetic Words
Blending Skills for Emergent Readers
Explicit, Multisensory Teaching of Spelling Rules
Fun and Games to Reinforce Spelling Rules
Ratios and Comparing Multiple Spelling Choices
Phonological Awareness - Skills and Activities
Transitions from Phonological Awareness to Phonics
What is Orton-Gillingham?
What are Learning Disabilities?
Teaching Morphology for Meaning at All Grade Levels
We are able
to offer workshops of a variety of other topics.
Please contact our center to find out how to bring a
Lunch and Learn session to your school.
