1:1 Orton-Gillingham Tutoring

We offer 1 to 1 specialized Orton-Gillingham lessons by certified Orton-Gillingham practitioners, supervised by certified Orton-Gillingham trainers. Lessons can occur a minimum of 2 times per week or up to 4 times per week. More frequent lessons will have a greater impact on learning.

Educational Assessments

Dr. Gavin Reid will be available to carry out psycho-educational assessments at REACH Learning Center throughout 2007 and 2008. He has conducted over 1,000 assessments world wide and has been resident psychologist to a number of public, independent and special schools. He is a long-standing member of the British Dyslexia Association Teacher Training Accreditation Board. He is also on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Centre for Child Evaluation and Teaching in Kuwait, where he is also a project consultant, and is an advisor to the board of the Canadian Academy for Therapeutic Tutors (CATT). Writing Skills Program: Level 1

Our small group writing program is designed to help children develop their written language skills.
With systematic, sequential, multisensory teaching, the first module will focus on creating a risk free environment while working on basic grammatical concepts, correct use of punctuation and capitalization, sentence structure and expanded sentences.

Our small group writing program is designed to help children develop their written language skills.
With systematic, sequential, multisensory teaching, the second module will focus on creating a risk free environment while working on the structure of a paragraph, types of sentences and types of paragraphs. The students will also work on creative writing skills including listing, identifying setting, use of characters, structure of a short story, and basic poetry elements.

Super Spellers Program

Our small group spelling program has been developed to help students with basic spelling skills.
Using Orton-Gillingham strategies, the first module will focus on creating a risk free environment while clarifying short vowels, common multiple spelling choices, common consonant digraphs and three spelling rules.

Little Learners Kindy Program

This small group early literacy program has been created to assist 4 to 6 year old students with reading readiness skills.
Students will work on explicit phonological awareness skills including identification of whole words, identification of syllables, phoneme segmentation, phoneme deletion and manipulation, and rhyming.
