REACH Directors:
Corey Zylstra is a practicing
Orton-Gillingham Tutor, Supervisor and certified Trainer for the
Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors, Orton-Gillingham and the
Surrey College. She has served on several non-profit boards
including the International Dyslexia Association, BC Branch and was
a co-founder of the REACH Orton-Gillingham Learning Center, where
she currently serves as a director. Ms. Zylstra has authored and
co-authored several publications, has spoken locally and
internationally to educators and parents regarding learning
difficulties and effective teaching strategies, and has over 17
years of experience in the field of Special Education.
Shannon Green is
a practicing Orton-Gillingham Therapeutic Tutor, Supervisor and
Trainer. Shannon has been working in the field of Special Education
and Learning Disabilities for over twelve years and has completed
specific training as a Therapeutic Tutor Trainer, Orton-Gillingham.
Shannon is a member of the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors,
has spoken internationally on the topic of dyslexia and is a founder
and Director of REACH Orton-Gillingham Learning Center.

Dr. Gavin Reid,
M.A, M.Ed., M.App.Sci., B.Ed., P.hD., Assoc.F.B.P.S., AMBDA , C.
Psychol.
Dr. Reid has conducted assessments in Canada, UK, Europe, Middle
East and New Zealand and is familiar with education systems
throughout the world as well as here in BC. He recently spent four
months as visiting professor at UBC in the department of Special
Education and presented a one day seminar at REACH.
He is a recognized international authority in dyslexia and special
education and has authored sixteen books on dyslexia, learning
disabilities and learning styles. His forthcoming book is on
Motivation in the Classroom (available Fall 2007).
He has conducted over 1,000 assessments and has been resident
psychologist to a number of public, independent and special schools.
He is a long-standing member of the British Dyslexia Association
Teacher Training Accreditation Board. He is also on the Scientific
Advisory Board for the Centre for Child Evaluation and Teaching in
Kuwait, where he is also a project consultant, and is an advisor to
the board of the Canadian Academy for Therapeutic Tutors (CATT).
